A Tear For You John

I never would have imagined that a blink could be so meaningful.

It seems you were just here one blink and the next blink was so tearful.

John, it’s unintentional but true, that every story that brings a tear to my eye makes me think of you.

Not every story has a sad ending, for many are happy through and through.

It doesn’t really matter, happy and sad tears both remind me of you.

Even when I hug Jadiss or hold Khloe, I’m holding and hugging you.

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m hugging and holding them for their own sakes as well as for mine too.

Whenever I see your picture, John, I want to talk to you,

And even more so, John, I want you to talk to me too.

Three simple words, John, which will always and forever more be true

That your Pawpaw says aloud as well as in silence too,

Is that forever and through eternity “I love you”.

Every tear shed speaks to how precious life really is

Every tear shed tells how much you are truly missed

I also miss your chance to learn many new things

Like riding a bike and the joy that it brings

Missing you is so profound that it makes my heart ache

You will forever live in my memories where now you live for heaven’s sake.

Hopefully as time passes my thoughts of you will bring more smiles and less tears,

For I must express that I am truly blessed for knowing you these four precious years.
